28 de may. de 2024 · Clementina was named after Clementina Sobieska, the Polish wife of Prince James Francis Edward Stuart. She became the mistress of Prince Charles Edward Stuart (the eldest son of Prince James and Clementina Sobieska) in Scotland during the 1745 Rising, and was reunited with him in Ghent in 1752.

Granted amnesty by the British government, he returned to Scotland, but some members of his family were not finished with the Stuarts. His daughter, Clementina Walkinshaw, would become well-known as the mistress of Charles Edward Stuart. [9]

To commemorate this special occasion the West Highland Museum has organised a series of articles written by scholars, academics, authors, and Jacobite enthusiasts.
More than 40 years after I first visited Walkinshaw House, the ruins still stand – like a faded jewel in the dilapidated diadem of Renfrewshire’s long lost architectural heritage. One celebrated family member was Clementina Walkinshaw, the mistress of Bonnie Prince Charlie, who gave birth to their daughter, Charlotte, Duchess of Albany.
