  4. The school opened on the 29th November 1915 as Kintyre Technical College, Keil House, Southend, near Campbeltown in Argyll. After a fire destroyed the originally building in Southend it was re-located and opened in Dumbarton as Keil School in 1925. The school took a lease on Helenslee House, a 50 acre site on the banks of the River Clyde.

  6. 29 de abr. de 2022 · Helenslee House in Dumbarton, Scotland, which used to house Keil School, has been left to rot ever since the school shut its doors in 2000 after a drop in income, Daily Record reports.

  7. Keil School closed in July 2000. If we go back in time we find that the once elegant building was Helenslee House, originally the property of the ship building family Dennys of Dumbarton. The listing description tells us : John Honeyman, architect, 1866-7; mansion house, incorporating lower 2-storey symmetrically planned earlier/mid 19th century house (by J T Rochead).
