Catherine Bellier (1614-7 June 1689), also known as the Madame de Beauvais, was the first mistress of King Louis XIV of France. Catherine Bellier became the lady-in-waiting to Queen Anne of Austria, and she was intelligent, plotting, and a trusted companion of Queen Anne.
Her name was Catherine Bellier and she was not a beauty by any means. Louis XIV as child, painted by Philippe de Champagne.
