In 1989, the two colleges merged to form Central Saint Martins. We welcomed Drama Centre London in 1999 and the Byam Shaw School of Art in 2003. In 2011, we moved to our award-winning building in King’s Cross, where all of these elements now flourish and collide under one roof.

Undergraduate courses at Central Saint Martins engage our students with the most current ideas and methods in their particular field, and encourage every student to develop their own identity and interests.
Postgraduate courses at Central Saint Martins are where the next set of ideas and methods in particular disciplines are forged. We lead not follow. Steeped in a research environment, our postgraduate courses and students develop the agendas as to where the creative industries and intellectual debate might go next.
Central Saint Martins main campus is based in King’s Cross. The institution thinks inspiration can be found in every pocket of London. Artist-run spaces sit alongside world-renowned arts institutions; West End theatres can be found next to independent galleries; artist and design studios have been established everywhere – from car parks to old tube carriages.
