CBS, who was showing sitcoms and variety hours in color, but not dramas, bought Coronet Blue and possibly shelved it until they had full color (1966). By the time they broadcast it in 1967, series star Frank Converse was committed to N.Y.P.D. (abc 1967-69), hence no second season.
