30 de mar. de 2024 · Walter Francis John Montagu Douglas Scott, 9th Duke of Buccleuch and 11th Duke of Queensberry, KT , VRD , JP , DL (28 September 1923 – 4 September 2007) was a Scottish peer, politician and landowner. He served in the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve in the Second World War, and represented Edinburgh North in the House of Commons for 13 years.
Ancestors. Richard Scott is the son of John Scott, 9th Duke of Buccleuch, the principal male heir of James Scott, 1st Duke of Monmouth (9 April 1649 – 15 July 1685), the illegitimate son of King Charles II of England and his mistress Lucy Walter, and Monmouth's wife, Anne Scott, 1st Duchess of Buccleuch (11 February 1651 – 6 February 1732).

The title originally comes from a holding in the Scottish Borders, near Selkirk.
