In 1971 had Curved Air een hit single met Back Street Luv. Na het uitkomen van de lp Airborne in 1976 viel de band zachtjes uit elkaar. De band kwam nog af en toe bijeen voor reünieconcerten. In 1990 werd nog een album uitgebracht, met opnamen van demo's uit 1973.
Curved Air are an English progressive rock group formed in 1970 by musicians from mixed artistic backgrounds, including classical, folk and electronic sound. The resulting sound of the band is a mixture of progressive rock , folk rock , and fusion with classical elements.
Curved Air's cleverly- titled first album "Airconditioning" (1970) featured "Vivaldi", one of their best-known signature songs, allowing Darryl Way to go off on an unrestrained free flight of fancy with his vivacious violin. Seemingly running out of inspiration for album titles, Curved Air's second album was simply titled "Second Album" (1971).
