At Moses Brown School, Meeting for Worship —30 minutes of unprogrammed space for silent worship, meditation, or simply reflective thinking - is part of the school week for every child, from nursery through twelfth grade. Each academic division of the school gathers separately in its own Meeting for Worship.
Moses Brown School was founded in 1784 by a Quaker entrepreneur who partnered with Samuel Slater to launch the American Industrial Revolution in Pawtucket, R.I. Located on 33 acres in urban Providence, the school enrolls 750 students ages 3-18 and sends 100% of its graduates to some of the nation`s most selective colleges and universities.
Moses Brown School, a renowned Quaker institution, boasts a rich history that spans nearly 240 years. The school was originally founded in 1784 as the Friends Yearly Meeting School in Portsmouth, RI. More than three decades later, in 1819, prominent Quaker Moses Brown donated the land where our campus has evolved over time.

Whether you attend Open House, a Parent/Guardian Coffee, a day visit, or an on-campus event (or all four!), you’ll have the chance to meet members of our community who are eager to share their Moses Brown story and help you learn more about us.
The school seeks to enroll a student body that is balanced between genders and enriched by the presence of Quakers and children of diverse racial and socioeconomic backgrounds. Children of alumni, employees, trustees, and current MB families are also a priority. Admissions - Moses Brown School.
