25 de nov. de 2019 · Shortly thereafter, Corporal York earned promotion to sergeant and received the Distinguished Service Cross. During a postwar review of valor awards, an investigative panel determined that Sergeant York’s actions merited a Medal of Honor, which was awarded on 18 April 1919.
