Neutral Milk Hotel war eine US-amerikanische Indie-Rock -Band. Die Gruppe um den Sänger und Songwriter Jeff Mangum veröffentlichte in den 1990er Jahren zwei Alben und zwei EPs. Neutral Milk Hotel originated in Ruston, Louisiana in the late 1980s as Milk, a creative outlet for high school student Jeff Mangum.Mangum would share recordings as cassette tapes with friends and likeminded artists Robert Schneider, Will Cullen Hart and Bill Doss under the label name The Elephant 6 Recording Co.
