Aneurin Bevan, couramment connu sous le nom de Nye Bevan, né le 15 novembre 1897 à Tredegar et mort le 6 juillet 1960 à Chesham, est un homme politique gallois appartenant au Parti travailliste. Il se voit confier des responsabilités ministérielles dans le gouvernement d'après-guerre, et joue un rôle crucial dans la création du National Health Service , la Sécurité sociale britannique.
Aneurin Bevan was born in Tredegar, a working-class mining town in South Wales, in 1897. The mining industry was a huge part of his young life; his father and grandfather both worked in the mines, as did a significant proportion of Tredegar’s workforce, and after leaving school at the age of thirteen, Bevan himself began working at the local colliery.
