Upon their marriage she became the Hereditary Princess of Thurn and Taxis. When her father-in-law, Karl August, 10th Prince of Thurn and Taxis, died in 1982 her husband became the 11th Prince of Thurn and Taxis. The couple had three children: Princess Maria Theresia Ludowika Klothilde Helene Alexandra, born 28 November 1980 in Regensburg.
On 31 May 1980, she married Johannes Baptista, Prince of Thurn und Taxis in Regensburg. The couple was blessed with three children: Princess Maria Theresia (born 1980), Princess Elisabeth (born 1982) and Prince Albert (born 1983). Princess Gloria has been the head of the Princely House since the death of her husband in 1990.
