Richard was born c. 1313 in Sussex, England.Fitzalan was the eldest son of Edmund Fitzalan, 2nd Earl of Arundel, and his wife Alice de Warenne.His parents married after 30 December 1304, after his father had initially been fined for refusing to marry Alice in 1304; their betrothal had been arranged by Alice's grandfather the Earl of Surrey, his father's guardian.
Henry Fitzalan-Howard, 14th Duke of Norfolk (1815–1860), the 13th Earl of Arundel of the Fourth Creation (1580), revived the use of the Fitzalan surname in the hyphenated form "Fitzalan-Howard". Edmund FitzAlan-Howard (1855–1947), son of the 14th Duke of Norfolk was raised up to the Peerage as "Viscount FitzAlan of Derwent" in 1921 when he was appointed Lord Lieutenant of Ireland .

27 de feb. de 2024 · Richard Fitzalan and Isabel Despenser's only child, Edmund Fitzalan ( I use the name Fitzalan in this post, but the family mostly called themselves 'de Arundel' in the fourteenth century), appears to have been born in 1327 - he was said to be twenty in 1347 [3]- when both his parents were still extremely young, probably only fourteen and fifteen.
Howard, Edmund Bernard Fitzalan - (1855–1947), 1st Viscount FitzAlan of Derwent , politician and last lord lieutenant of Ireland, was born 1 June 1855 in London, the third son (the second to survive infancy) of Henry Granville Fitzalan Howard, earl of Arundel and fourteenth duke of Norfolk (d. 1860), and his wife, Augusta Minna Catherine (d. 1886), the second daughter of Admiral Lord Lyons.
