Following her husband’s death in 1822, Isabella retreated to the family’s homes, spending much of her time at Temple Newsam and Ragley Hall, and living a relatively quiet life.

From 29 May 1741, her married name became Seymour-Conway. As a result of her marriage, Lady Isabella Fitzroy was styled as Countess of Hertford on 3 August 1750.
