  2. 2 de abr. de 2023 · Field Marshal George Hamilton, 1st Earl of Orkney was baptised on 9 February 1666.[3] He was born circa February 1666.[3] He was the son of William Douglas-Hamilton, 1st Earl of Selkirk and Anne Hamilton, 3rd Duchess of Hamilton.[1] He married Elizabeth Villiers, daughter of Sir Edward Villiers and Lady Frances Howard, on 25 November 1695.[4]

  3. 1st Earl: Lord George Hamilton (1666—1737), 5th son of Lord William Douglas (Duke of Hamilton for life) and Anne (Duchess of Hamilton). George was created Lord Dechmont, Viscount Kirkwall, and Earl of Orkney (peerage of Scotland) in 1696.

  5. George Hamilton, 1st Earl of Orkney was the son of William Douglas, 1st Earl of Selkirk and Anne, 3rd Duchess of Hamilton. Hamilton was commissioned into the His Majesty's Royal Regiment of Foot, a regiment for which his uncle, Lord Dumbarton, held the colonelcy, on 9 May 1684. He was created 1st Earl of Orkney, Viscount Kirkwall on 3 January 1696.
