Stephen Fox-Strangways, 1st Earl of Ilchester PC (12 September 1704 – 26 September 1776) was a British peer and Member of Parliament. [1] Origins. Stephen (Fox) Fox-Strangways (1704-1776) was the 1st surv. s. of Rt. Hon. Sir Stephen Fox, M.P and brother of Henry Fox. He attended Eton 1715, matriculated Christ Church College, Oxford in 1721 but did not take a degree.
