René de Châlon was born 5 February 1519 in Breda, North Brabant, Netherlands to Heinrich von Nassau-Dillenburg (1483-1538) and Claudia de Châlon (1498-1521) and died 15 July 1544 Saint-Dizier, Champagne-Ardenne, France of unspecified causes. He married Anna of Lorraine (1522-1568) 20 August 1540 JL in Bar-le-Duc, Lorraine, France

Philibert de Chalon (18 March 1502 – 3 August 1530) was the last Prince of Orange from the House of Chalon. Biography [ edit ] Born at Nozeroy to John IV of Chalon-Arlay , Philibert served Emperor Charles V as commander in Italy , fighting in the War of the League of Cognac .
René was born in Breda, the only son of Count Henry III of Nassau-Breda and Claudia of Châlon. Claudia's brother, Philibert of Châlon, was the last Prince of Orange from the house of Châlon. When Philibert died in 1530, René inherited the Princedom of Orange on condition that he used the name and coat of arms of the Châlon-Orange family.
