Paul Ehrenfest was the youngest of the five sons of Sigmund and Johanna Jellinek Ehrenfest. His childhood was spent in a working-class district of Vienna, where his father ran a successful grocery business.

Paul Ehrenfest (født 18. januar 1880, død 25. september 1933) var en østrigsk fysiker og matematiker, som fik hollandsk statsborgerskab 24. marts 1922.
