  4. Charlotte de Rothschild, born on 6 May 1825, was the eldest child and only daughter of James (1792-1868) and Betty (1805-1886). In 1842 she married her English cousin, Nathaniel ('Nat') (1812-1870), the son of James's brother Nathan Rothschild.
