Dutch art critic (1886-1959) Jacob-Baart de la Faille was an art critic, lawyer, scholar, and expert on the work of Vincent van Gogh (1853-1890).Faille compiled a van Gogh catalogue raisonné, L'Oeuvre de Vincent van Gogh, which was published in 1928.

Jacob Baart de la Faille (1 June 1886, Leeuwarden – 7 August 1959, Heemstede) compiled the first catalogue raisonné of the work of Vincent van Gogh, published in 1928. The catalogue was revised and republished by an editorial committee in 1970, and this version is considered to be the definitive catalogue of van Gogh's work.

It is displayed at the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam.

Jacob Baart de la Faille (1864). Jacob Baart de la Faille (Groningen, 25 juli 1795 - Groningen, 19 mei 1867) was een hoogleraar Obstetrie, Hoogbeginselen der Algemene Therapie en Medica Forensis van 1832 tot 1865, en sinds 1837 ook hoogleraar Kinderziekte, Medicina Practica en Klinische Lessen aan de Faculteit der Medische wetenschappen van de Rijksuniversiteit Groningen.
