She actually even began competing in national, international, and world tournaments as soon as she qualified, meaning she kickstarted her professional career at the mere age of 18 in 1953.

René Italo Ricolfi-Doria (30 April 1901 – 4 February 1970) was a Swiss freestyle swimmer. He competed in the two events and the water polo at the 1920 Summer Olympics . [2] He was father of Marina Doria .
Marina Ricolfi-Doria is a Swiss former water skier. She competed three times at the Water Ski World Championships winning gold medals in 1955 and in 1957. She won the overall title in the European Water Ski Championships consecutively from 1953 to 1956 and won five Swiss national titles. She was inducted into the International Water Ski Federation Hall of Fame in 1991.
