22 de jul. de 2023 · Wawel Royal Castle – Visit ot Not? Let me say, I’d struggle to choose a favorite amongst all the exhibits at the Wawel Royal Castle. It’s not that there’s an overwhelming abundance, but none of the exhibitions particularly dazzle me. Sure, the exhibits and rooms are beautiful, but I tend to find only one item of interest in each.

Wawel Royal Castle is one of the top highlights in Kraków and is a definite must-see. The Castle is beautifully preserved and holds various interesting exhibits, even though numerous other historic buildings were demolished to establish a new barrack during the nineteenth century.
Its Silver Bells’ Tower is the oldest surviving building of Wawel Royal Castle, dating back to the 12th century. In the basement of the Wawel Cathedral are the crypts where poets, national heroes and kings are buried. The most important is St. Leonard’s Crypt, also called the Royal Crypt, which was built in the 11th century.
