In 2005, Marvel Masterworks Stan Lee gives a different rendition of how Dr. Strange was dreamt up compared to his 1963 Comic Reader 16 entry.

GoxBoxSocks. •. To be fair to Kirby, this is a sketch by Ditko trying to prove a point not trying to accurately depict Kirby's design. Unfortunately this is the only reference we have to what Kirby's Spidey looked like. It was most likely something close to his The Fly design.
