28 de sept. de 2020 · In chapter 4, Jahoda presented the findings about menus and budgets. She started with a summary of the number of meals eaten by those who participated in the survey. For example, 75 per cent had three meals a day. Just over half the families (54 per cent) had meat once a week.
Abstract. In this chapter I discuss Marie Jahoda’s classic study, Current Concepts of Positive Mental Health, published in 1958. The book is a summary of most of the views on mental health found in the relevant literature at the time, and it is therefore a great source when looking for different defining characteristics of mental health.

Marie Jahoda was a major figure in psychology for her work on the effects of unemployment on emotional well-being, as well as the social impact of McCarthy-era blacklisting. Jahoda earned her doctorate from the University of Vienna in 1933 and co-wrote a book on the effects of unemployment in a small town, though in 1937 she fled Austria for London.
