In 1903, his son Leopold Schleiss founded the Gmundner Tonwarenfabrik (Gmunden Pottery Factory) on what is now the site of the present-day Gmundner Keramik manufactory. In 2003, the company celebrated the 100th anniversary of the site with a series of events, including the hosting of an international ceramic symposium.

Our range comprises around 2,800 individual items in a wide variety of shapes and colours and around 69 different designs. Typical of Gmundner Keramik are the soft ceramic shapes, the bright white glaze and the bold colours of our timeless classics. To retain the natural colour of the ceramic, there are also designs with a transparent glaze.
