Count Friedrich Ferdinand von Beust (German: Friedrich Ferdinand Graf von Beust; 13 January 1809 – 24 October 1886) was a German and Austrian statesman. As an opponent of Otto von Bismarck, he attempted to conclude a common policy of the German middle states between Austria and Prussia.

He negotiated the Ausgleich, or “Compromise” (1867), establishing the Austro-Hungarian monarchy, and also helped restore the Habsburgs’ international.
Friedrich Ferdinand, count von Beust, (born Jan. 13, 1809, Dresden, Saxony—died Oct. 24, 1886, Schloss Altenberg, near Vienna, Austria-Hungary), German statesman. A career diplomat in Saxony from 1830, he served as its foreign minister (1849–53) and its interior minister (1853–66).
