Hace 23 horas · Crates of Mallos, in the 2nd century BC, wrote a commentary on the Iliad and the Odyssey in which he assumed that Homer did not know of the Cimmerians and therefore renamed them in his text as the "Cerberians" (Ancient Greek: Κερβεριοι, romanized: Kerberioi) because of the Homeric location of this people at the entrance of Hades where dwelt Cerberus.
