20 de may. de 2024 · George Gordon, the 2nd Earl of Huntly, brought some order to the Castle after 150 years of ownership switching between the two sides. In 1689, a small garrison supporting William and Mary’s Protestant monarchy held off a more significant Jacobite force at Urquhart Castle, putting the Castle to rest.

24 de may. de 2024 · When Mary Queen of Scots came to Inverness in September 1562, the castle gates were shut against her on the orders of George Gordon, Earl of Huntly. Her supporters captured the building in the three-day Siege of Inverness.
