Joachim Frederick (27 January 1546 – 18 July 1608), of the House of Hohenzollern, was Prince-elector of the Margraviate of Brandenburg from 1598 until his death. Biography. Joachim Frederick was born in Cölln to John George, Elector of Brandenburg, and Sophie of Legnica.
Son of Elector Joachim I. The Margraviate of Küstrin was created for him. After his death without male descendants, Küstrin was annexed again to the Electorate.
Joachim Frederick (born January 1, 1546, Kölln an der Spree, Brandenburg [Germany]—died July 28, 1608, en route from Storkow to Rüdersdorf) was the elector of Brandenburg (1598–1608), the eldest son of Elector John George.
He spent seven years at the court of his maternal uncle, John George, since 1571 Elector of Brandenburg. As a representative of Brandenburg, Joachim Frederick appeared at the coronation of Henry of France as King of Poland in 1574, and in the coronation of King Rudolf II in Rome on 27 October 1575.
Joachim I Nestor (21 February 1484 – 11 July 1535) was a Prince-elector of the Margraviate of Brandenburg (1499–1535), the fifth member of the House of Hohenzollern. His nickname was taken from King Nestor of Greek mythology .
Biography. Burgrave Frederick, 15th century portrait. Frederick was born in Nuremberg, the second-born son of Burgrave Frederick V (1333–1398) and the Wettin princess Elisabeth of Meissen. He entered early into the service of his brother-in-law, the Habsburg duke Albert III of Austria.
