Lady Bird Lake (formerly, and still colloquially referred to as Town Lake) is a river-like reservoir on the Colorado River in Austin, Texas, United States. The City of Austin created the reservoir in 1960 as a cooling pond for a new city power plant.

Spend any time on Lady Bird Lake, and you can tell something stinks. The shores of one of Austin's greatest assets are blanketed in trash. Heavy rains funnel environmental pollutants and land based litter into the lake with alarming efficiency.

23 de feb. de 2023 · Lady Bird Lake features paddling with a view, with the city’s skyline visible most of the time. You can explore paddling-designated lake trails or you chart your own course. You also have access to Barton Springs Pool or Deep Eddy Pool, both of which are spring-fed Austin pools that are open year round.
In addition to the Texas Water Safety Act, the City of Austin has established several ordinances for Lake Austin, Lady Bird Lake and Lake Walter E. Long. The purposes of these ordinances are to protect the health and safety of the public using the area lakes.
