Hace 4 días · The Anglo-Saxon runes, also known as the futhorc (sometimes written fuþorc), are an extended alphabet, consisting of 29, and later 33, characters. It was probably used from the 5th century onwards. There are competing theories as to the origins of the Anglo-Saxon (also called Anglo-Frisian) Futhorc.

Hace 3 días · Obviously some of the runes in these alphabets are duplicates of those found in the historical alphabets, but people should know to avoid anything unique to these alphabets. Feel free to add other symbols if you can think of any. Edit: To be clear, these are the historical runes that aren’t problematic. Elder Futhark.
