Global Variables can easily be used in conditions, so you can have effects/loot tables based on the set difficulty. The mod checks the difficulty every time you close the Journal menu and changes 3 Global Variables accordingly.

So, this new replacement patch covers this awesome follower completely.

This is a VR compatible rebuild of the DLL used in Blade and Blunt, since Simon and Collin do not have VR and cannot offer support for it. See the original mod page for further details on what it does. Injuries will not show the broken portion of the health bar in VR like they do in SE/AE.
