Mario Schifano (20 September 1934, Khoms, Libya – 26 January 1998, Rome, Italy) was an Italian painter and collagist of the Postmodern tradition. Mario Schifano nació en Homs (Libia) en 1934. Su familia se trasladó a Roma durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial. Autodidacta desde pequeño y restaurador de cerámica de oficio, el artista adoptó un enfoque posmoderno y metacrítico que lo situó de lleno en los principales movimientos de la época.
