What was the deal with Brendon McNichol? In just about every live performance I've seen where he's playing with QOTSA, he's either incredibly mistake prone or just doesn't sound good. Their 2001 Rock am Ring performance (which the band has regarded as their worst performance) is a good example of this.
Yes, he did play a part, but he played it pretty poorly. I don't know if he's actually a bad player or it was just too much alcohol or something, but he was definitely not good in QOTSA. I think he was solid enough, but when he messed up (usually on lapsteel) it really stood out, so people just peg him as "the worst". Okay Brendon.
