Lady Gwendolen Georgiana Gascoyne-Cecil (28 July 1860 – 28 September 1945) was a British author who wrote a four-volume biography of her father, Robert Gascoyne-Cecil, entitled Life of Robert, Marquis of Salisbury (1921, 1932).

Robert Arthur Talbot Gascoyne-Cecil, 3rd Marquess of Salisbury KG GCVO PC FRS DL (/ ˈ ɡ æ s k ɔɪ n ˈ s ɪ s əl /; 3 February 1830 – 22 August 1903), known as Lord Salisbury, was a British statesman and Conservative politician who served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom three times for a total of over thirteen years.

In the nave of Westminster Abbey near the west door is an altar tomb of black marble with a bronze effigy of Robert, 3rd Marquess of Salisbury, Prime Minister. His was the last recumbent effigy to be erected in the Abbey and is by sculptor Sir W. Goscombe John.
