www.heartofgoldband.com. The Heart of Gold Band is an American rock band formed by Keith and Donna Jean Godchaux in 1980 following their departure from the Grateful Dead. [1] [2] The band took its name from a line in the Dead song "Scarlet Begonias".
The band is singer/guitarist Russell Mefford , guitarist/singer Rob Malone , drummer Scott Kennedy , bass player David MacKay (my husband!), and Clint Bailey on keys. Strong on original material, the band rocks the house.
The "Heart of Gold Band" has now come full circle with Greg in the mix. We are also delighted beyond words that keyboardist Mark Adler has also joined the band.
