Passion Guitars is a studio album by Bucky Pizzarelli and John Pizzarelli containing swing and Latin jazz standards. The album was later released as Passionate Guitars by LRC Records in an attempt to shed this version's poor marketing, which confused potential buyers into thinking this was somehow a smooth jazz album.
"Bucky Pizzarelli joins his son (and fellow guitarist) John (whose trio includes brother Martin Pizzarelli on bass and pianist Ray Kennedy), plus fellow guitarist Gene Bertoncini and drummer Butch Miles for this swinging session that covers many different styles of jazz, though bossa nova is the flavor of the day.
Butch Miles. Charles J. Thornton, Jr. (July 4, 1944 – February 2, 2023 [1] ), known professionally as Butch Miles, was an American jazz drummer. He played with the Count Basie Orchestra, Dave Brubeck, Ella Fitzgerald, Sammy Davis Jr., Frank Sinatra, Lena Horne, and Tony Bennett. [2]
