  7. Engineer Tom O'Day warns John Hamilton, a logging-camp owner, that the dam above the town of Johnstown is being weakened by the impounding of water for floating logs. Hamilton refuses, however, to heed the warning. Tom, who is in love with Gloria, Hamilton's daughter, plans to marry her while Hamilton is absent in Pittsburgh.
