17 de may. de 2007 · Southern Cross is a rich-sounding record, elevated by the nearly full-time collaboration of Tim Finn as lyricist and vocalist. It’s also a serious record: “Dr. Fidel,” “A Million Reasons Why,” “Rich And Poor.”. They sing of class distinctions, dictators, unscrupulous doctors.

21 de ene. de 2019 · Tim co-wrote that with Phil Manzanera (I've read that for these songs, Tim wrote the lyrics and the melodies and Phil M the rhythms) for the "Southern Cross" album which was recorded in 1988-89, i.e. around the same time he was working on "Tim Finn".
8 de jun. de 2022 · Tim Finn and Phil announce release of Second collaboration. The Ghost of Santiago is the latest album to be released by Tim Finn and Phil Manzanera, available from 29 July 2022. This new album, featuring 10 new co-written songs, is the follow up to last year’s critically acclaimed album by the two, Caught by the Heart .

3 de dic. de 2006 · (The album has some solid guest vocalists in old partner Tim Finn and the lesser-known soul voice of Gary Dyson, both wail convincingly). This is followed by the luscious and sultry instrumental "Frontera 91", a voiceless reference to the original on Diamond Head on which Robert Wyatt manned the mike seductively.
