“When your scattered memories return to you, you must fight on with the utmost divinity. I believe in you, my child.”

Lumera speaking to Alear in Chapter 3.

Lumera is the Divine Dragon Monarch and the mother of Alear. She's a hero who helped the humans in the war against the Fell Dragon a thousand years ago, saving the continent. For the next thousand years, Lumera watched over Alear, who was sleeping in the Somniel.

It is later revealed that Lumera is not Alear's birth mother but their adoptive mother who took them after showing them kindness. During the war against Sombron, Lumera, the last Divine Dragon left after the rest of her kind had been killed, encountered Alear in the mountains of Gradlon, where she found them prone in the snow. Despite being her enemy, Lumera showed Alear warmth, kindness, and understanding. Alear was at first conflicted and stunned by such kindness that they had never before received, but agreed to meet Lumera in secret again. The two would meet several times, each time developing a kinship with each other. With their bond growing into familial territory, Lumera would adopt Alear as her child and they in turn would betray Sombron and help Lumera destroy the Fell Dragon. The two would combat Sombron for sometime before finally laying him low, but not before Sombron is able to fatally injure Alear one last time, leading to their thousand years slumber.

Upon hearing news of her child's awakening, Lumera arrived just as Alear was being assaulted by malevolent creatures. Using her draconic powers, she dispatches the remaining creatures. She is shocked that Alear has amnesia, but nonetheless embraces her child and expresses joy that they are awake after so long. After returning to Lythos Castle, Lumera reveals to them the existence of twelve Emblem Rings and the duties of the Divine Dragons in collecting them every one thousand years to Summon the latent Emblems inside. The last time this occurred, Lumera used their power to seal away the Fell Dragon. She also decides to train Alear in combat in hopes of reawakening some of their memories. She uses the Ring of the Holy Knight to further test their strengths. Alear is able to clear her trial and after the fight, she attempts to give them an ornamental ring that she had promised to them prior to their slumber for their birthday. Alear, feeling guilty for accepting a present they cannot recall, asks Lumera to hold onto it until they regain their memories, which she accepts.

That night, for the first time in a thousand years, Lythos Castle is besieged by enemies attempting to raid the Ring Vault where the Emblem Rings are stored. After Alear and their forces arrive, they are ambushed by a cloaked figure. Lumera appears in her dragon and intercepts a powerful spell. Though she is able to muster enough energy to repel this cloaked figure, Lumera is severely injured. Despite Framme's best attempt to heal her, healing at least her immediate wounds, Lumera begins to die as she had exhausted so much of her Divine Dragon powers to reawaken Alear. In her death throes, she gives Alear the Ring of the Holy Knight and tasks them with completing her mission to gather the twelve rings. Heartbroken, Alear pleads with her to stay with them, but Lumera can only make Alear pinky swear to complete the mission just before she finally passes away.

After Lumera's death, Sombron resurrects her as a Corrupted. When Sombron revitalizes his full power, Alear and their forces seek out his Fell Dragon shards in order to weaken him. Veyle, who can sense the shards, discovers that the last shard is protected by Corrupted Lumera. Though Veyle attempts to destroy it on her own to spare Alear from having to face their mother, she is incapable of doing so. Lumera attacks her in a rage as it was her who caused her death. Alear makes a timely rescue and Lumera is overjoyed by their reunion, even trying to sway Alear to join her as a Corrupted so they can finally be together forever, even extending the offer to Veyle now knowing that she is Alear's sister. Alear refuses and resolves to free her from Sombron's influence. Lumera is defeated after a grueling battle and, free from Sombron's influence, is given one final moment to show Alear affection and encouragement to save the world before her Corrupted body vanishes.

Lumera is a kind and considerate queen of Lythos and a beloved figure throughout all of Elyos.

She dearly loves her child Alear, having spent a thousand years patiently awaiting through their slumber. Their eventual awakening brought Lumera great joy and a deep desire to make up for lost time.

As a Corrupted, Lumera still professes adoration for Alear, whom she still considers her child. However, she is also in Sombron's thrall and serves him as the guardian of the final Fell Dragon Shard without question. When confronted by Veyle, Lumera expresses hatred for her killer and jealousy for the time that Veyle was able to spend with Alear that she could not. She goes so far as to label Veyle a defect; the same word Sombron uses to refer to his disobedient children.

Both Lumera's English name as well as her Japanese name, Lumière, are words for "light", with "Lumera" coming from Corsican and "Lumière" from French. This is similar to Alear's Japanese name, Lueur, which is the French word for "glow".

Lumera shares her English voice actress, Julia McIlvane, with Brunnya and Echidna from Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade as they appear in Fire Emblem Heroes.

Lumera shares some similarities with Mikoto:

•Both are the mother of the protagonist.

    •Both died protecting their child.
