Lon Morris College (LMC) was a private junior college located in Jacksonville, Texas, United States, and was the only school affiliated with the United Methodist Church that was owned by an individual conference and not the denomination as a whole.

Academics. Located in Jacksonville, Texas, Lon Morris College is the oldest two-year college in the Lone Star State. Originally founded in 1854, the school moved locations a few times before finally settling down in 1909 when R.A. Morris – known as Lon – gave his private estate to the school.
After attaining state accreditation in 1915-16, the school began, in 1919, to advertise itself as the oldest junior college in East Texas. In 1924 it took the name Lon Morris College to honor financial benefactor Alonzo Morris.
