The Laboratory School community aspires towards total effort in every endeavor for maximum student achievement through the development, implementation, and demonstration of exemplary programs and instructional practices.
The school is located on the main campus of Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, a center for the petrochemical industry and a major deep-water port. The school was designated a National Blue Ribbon School in 2015 and 2022.
The Laboratory School utilizes five key functions in pursuit of its mission: Provides an exemplary education for its students. Demonstrates a model educational environment. Serves as a center for educational innovation and research. Provides professional development opportunities for the state’s educators.
High School. At University Laboratory School, the high school years are viewed as a time of preparation for college. A caring and skilled team of educators guides students toward independence as they explore their strengths and interests and apply those to future opportunities.
