The Master of Game is a medieval hunting treatise translated into English ( see Edward’s bio for more info) by Edward of Norwich, 2nd Duke of York, between 1406 and 1413, of which 27 manuscripts survive. York was Henry IV's Master of the Hart Hounds.
"The Master of Game" is the oldest book on hunting in the English language. The original chapters are particularly interesting because of the light they throw upon English hunting customs in the time of the Plantagenets.

Master of the Game is a novel by Sidney Sheldon, first published in hardback format in 1982. Spanning four generations in the lives of the fictional McGregor/Blackwell family, the critically acclaimed novel spent four weeks at number one on The New York Times Best Seller list, and was later adapted into a 1984 television miniseries.
The Master of Game is a unique text for naturalists, hunters, and persons interested in social history. Although hunting is nowadays far removed from most people's experience, it was of major interest in the time of Edward of Norwich for ritual, sport, and, of course, food.
