Thomas Conolly ( Leixlip Castle, 1738 – 27 April 1803 Celbridge) was an Irish landowner and Member of Parliament . Early life. Arms of Conolly: Argent, on a saltire sable five escallops of the field.
Thomas Conolly was the quintessential Irish gentleman, a keen huntsman and a fine horseman, as well as a politician and landowner. Regarded as the wealthiest commoner in the kingdom, he actually spent much of his career in debt because of large debts he inherited from his father.
Thomas Conolly (1734-1803). He was the son and heir of William James Conolly (d.1754) of Castletown House, by his wife Lady Anne Wentworth. Thomas Conolly married Lady Louisa Lennox, a daughter of Charles Lennox, the 2nd Duke of Richmond.
Conolly, Thomas (1738?–1803), landowner and politician, was born probably in 1738, the only surviving son of William James Conolly (d. 1754), MP for Ballyshannon and owner of Castletown, Celbridge, Co. Kildare, and estates in Donegal, Londonderry, Meath and at least five other Irish counties, as well as a property in Staffordshire, England.
