The College of Saint Benedict and Saint John's University are two closely related private, Benedictine liberal arts colleges in Minnesota. The College of Saint Benedict is a women's college in St. Joseph, while Saint John's University (nicknamed Johnnies) is a men's college in Collegeville.
Together, the College of Saint Benedict (CSB) and Saint John’s University (SJU) form a one-of-a-kind partnership of two top colleges. Overview. The College of Saint Benedict was founded by the Sisters of the Order of Saint Benedict, who received an educational charter from the State of Minnesota in 1887 and offered their first college courses in 1913.
