Ronald Arthur Caines, 13 December 1939, Bristol – alto saxophone), Geoff Nicholson (b. Geoffrey Nicholson, 27 June 1948, near Bristol – guitar, vocals), Mike Price ( bass ), and Stuart Rossiter (drums).
Ron Caines. Profile: Born 1944 in Bristol, England. Saxophonist (also plays keyboards) and composer. After masterminding the groundbreaking early recordings of the group East Of Eden in the late 1960s, he concentrated on jazz composition and playing in the subsequent decades. He is also a painter.

Ron Caines began playing saxophone while at Bristol Art School, and during this time became enthralled by the music of Charlie Parker. He worked in commercial rock and roll bands which led to sessions at the Star Club in Hamburg.
