Gwenllian ferch Gruffydd (audio ⓘ) (Gwenllian, daughter of Gruffydd; c. 1097 – 1136) was a 12th century Welsh rebel and Princess consort of Deheubarth.

Gwenllian was a warrior princess, leading an army of Welshmen in 1136 against the mighty Norman forces. Her bravery has made her a beloved figure, revered much like Boudica for her strength and tenacity in the face of great danger.

30 de abr. de 2017 · Gwenllian ferch Gruffydd (1100 – 1136) Princess Gwenllian was the youngest daughter and child of Gruffydd ap Cynan (1055 – 1137), King of Gwynedd, and his wife Angharad. Born at the family seat in Aberffraw, she had four older sisters (Mared, Rhiannell, Susanna and Annest) and three older brothers (Cadwallon, Owain and Cadwaladr).
Gwenllian of Wales or Gwenllian ferch Llywelyn (June 1282 – 7 June 1337) was the daughter of Llywelyn ap Gruffudd, the last native Prince of Wales (Welsh: Tywysog Cymru). Gwenllian is sometimes confused with Gwenllian ferch Gruffudd, who lived two centuries earlier.
She married Gruffydd ap Rhys shortly after 1116, the most famous of her sons being the 'lord' Rhys ap Gruffydd. At the opening of the great Welsh uprising in 1136, she led an attack on the Norman fortress of Kidwelly, in her husband's absence, and was killed fighting outside the town, at a spot still known as Maes Gwenllian.
