Prudence Mary Fitzgerald, (18 January 1930 – 6 September 2018) was an English television director and producer. She was known for directing and producing numerous British TV series including Dr. Finlay's Casebook , The Expert , The Shadow of the Tower , 1990 and the 1979 series A Family Affair .

Mannheim died in 1976, and the next year Goring married television director/producer Prudence Fitzgerald (1930-2018), who had directed him in many episodes of The Expert. In the film A Matter of Life and Death (1946) Goring played Conductor 71, whose role is to 'conduct' Peter Carter ( David Niven ) to the afterlife.
