Located in the filmmaking capital of the world, the AFI Conservatory is nestled in the hills overlooking Hollywood. The picturesque eight-acre campus is in the center of the professional filmmaking community with easy access to studios, networks and post-production facilities.
The AFI Conservatory MFA Cinematography program teaches filmmakers the skills needed to be an expert in the technical aspects of cinematography and how to make fast, informed and inspired creative decisions.
Ranked as one of the top film schools in America, the AFI Conservatory is searching for the next generation of filmmakers with individual artistic voices to apply as Fellows to one of the six disciplines in our MFA program. The AFI Conservatory does not offer any undergraduate degree programs and only admits once a year for fall term.
AFI Conservatory is a five-term Master of Fine Arts program in six disciplines: Cinematography, Directing, Editing, Producing, Production Design, and Screenwriting. Traditionally, the Conservatory accepts 28 Fellows per year for most disciplines and 14 for the Production Design and Editing disciplines.
Our address is 2021 North Western Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90027. The AFI entrance is shared with the main entrance to Immaculate Heart High School and Middle School. The campus is easily accessible from I-5, the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and the Burbank Airport (BUR), as well as from all Valley locations and Orange County.
14 de mar. de 2024 · Campus Tour | AFI CONSERVATORY. Campus tours are offered on Thursday mornings at 10:00am. Space is limited for tours, and a reservation is required at least 48 hours in advance. Space will be limited to 20 visitors per tour. Should there not be any space available on your requested date, we will work to accommodate you on a different date.
