Un referente de la música moderna del siglo XX y autor de bandas sonoras para el cine como; ‘Un tipo genial’ (1983) y ‘La princesa prometida’ (1987). El compositor formó la banda Dire Straits. En 1985 publica su famoso LP; ‘Brothers in Arms’. Un disco histórico.
